Stormwater Management

Alagae SamplingWith increased focus on the health of receiving waters, stormwater management continues to remain a high profile issue. Monitoring is an essential tool for tracking ecosystem behavior, determining the distribution and magnitude of anthropogenic impacts, and assessing the performance of strategies or techniques for mitigating the effects of particular projects. The professional staff at AMS is experienced in designing and implementing creative, cost-effective solutions in support of stormwater management programs.

AMS staff members are active participants on a number of local and regional environmental resource management task forces and advisory committees, such as the Northern California and Central California ASBS Dischargers' Stakeholder Groups, Bay Area Stormwater Management Agencies Association's Monitoring Subcommittee, and the Regional Monitoring Program's Sources, Pathways, and Loadings Workgroup and Emerging Contaminants Workgroup. This keeps AMS current with new technologies and changes in the field, solidifies contacts with important players in the stormwater field, and makes AMS uniquely qualified to offer assistance to local stormwater programs.
