The
Regional Monitoring Program (RMP) for Trace Substances in the
San Francisco Estuary is a $1,000,000 + per annum program administered
by the San Francisco Estuary Institute and the State of California
Water Resource Control Board.
AMS provides program management and coordinates the field sampling
program for this long-term study of the presence, abundance and
distribution of contaminants in the San Francisco Estuary.
The program includes sampling water, sediments, and bivalve tissues
for a suite of trace metals and organics constituents.
This program delivers over 40,000 data points annually, providing
the State of California its first synoptic assessment of toxic contamination
in the estuary.
